Bonnie Plants Video SEO

Bonnie Plants YouTube channelBonnie Plants hired me in April of 2015 to begin a SEO project for their YouTube channel. I helped them optimize all the videos previously posted and those that they produced during the project term. I also curated their playlists and created a few more to showcase popular content and show the content diversity. The project continued until June of 2016 when Bonnie Plants was bought by Scotts Miracle-Gro and these activities were brought in-house.

The results of this project were very impressive. Comparing the first six months of 2016 to 2015 there was a 2,021% increase in sessions and new users were up 2,360%. The bounce rate on YouTube videos decreased 14%. Traffic to Bonnie Plants YouTube videos increased from most all sources including suggested videos, external sources, YouTube Search and playlists.

I also helped them optimize their Vimeo channel and it too saw improvements in plays, finishes, and likes YOY.

“In the year that Gayle worked on the Bonnie Plants YouTube channel (GrowBonniePlants), we saw views, view time, and engagement increase significantly. She did a fantastic job organizing and optimizing every single video on our channel, and continued to do updates, improvements, and behind-the-scenes work after that. Not only is the Bonnie Plants channel now performing better, but it’s much better organized and easier to navigate. Gayle is also patient and flexible, and did a wonderful job of educating the Bonnie team. I would hire her again in a heartbeat.” ~ Su Reid-St. John, former Marketing Producer for Bonnie Plants

Hungate Cases

Hungate CasesHungate Cases needed a website to demonstrate their new E Series guitar case. The site was built on a responsive platform and launched with the early goals of lead generation and product demonstration.

A 360° product spinner, created from CAD drawings, was a major feature on the homepage. Pictures do speak volumes and the user interactivity supplied by the spinner is a plus. Of course, it helps to have a beautifully designed product to work with.

A fantastic video was produced by Voltaic Video to showcase the use of the E Series case. The modular design approach taken in site development facilitated adding the video served from a third party.

A product feedback survey was created with easy QR code access to facilitate marketing at SXSW 2015 Music Festival. Hungate Cases showed the prototype case at the gear show and around various venues for feedback. I also helped them create promotional items for the show.

As the product gets closer to launch and the company grows, this site can meet those needs and help Hungate Cases market their new and innovative product.

I also helped them with their social profiles including Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube and Google+ .

Several revisions to the blog were made in early 2012. These included the addition of BlogHer network ad code, a recipe plugin, and minor alterations to the sidebars and widgets. The owner anticipated a redesign sometime in the near future so the changes were conservative in nature.

In late 2012, Kim went with a friend’s design firm closer to her home in Alaska for a complete branding treatment and redesign. It was a pleasure to work with her for many years.

“I will miss the old site but I think this is a good change and I needed to freshen up and have a real logo. Thanks. You’ve been so great all these years and I continue to recommend you.” Kim Sunèe, 9/25/12

Below are images of the legacy versions of the blog and before that the flat HTML site. Overtime the project expanded from a flat HTML site to included a customized WordPress blog, ad units, Flash-based slide show and video editing for the web that included an embedded Silverlight player.

BeckySueEpstein.com

This site, in a WordPress blog format, has been through several iterations of the skin ranging from a customized template to something more off-the-shelf. Becky Sue and I have worked together for several years since I first moved her flat html site to WordPress. Recently I moved this site to a new host for better service and facilities.
