Comm-Unity Festival was a production of KAZI 88.7FM and KOOP 91.7FM radio stations in Austin, Texas as a free-to-the-public event during SXSW2017. This site was put up quickly to draw attention to the event at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard, the artists appearing, and to generate sponsorships. Going forward the site will be used to publish the next Comm-Unity event and showcase past successful events.
The White Shirt: Find Your Ideal Career with the Secrets Hidden in This Ancient Story is a book written by Micheal Alan Tate. The book was published in late December 2016 and required a companion website that had a “Step-by-Step Guide to Help You Design Your One-Page Career Strategy in One Week”. The project involved translating the look, feel, and utility of the book to a digital platform.
WhiteShirtBook.com was created on a WordPress platform to be responsive and enable the visitor to find out what the book is about, how the process works, and after registration use the strategies and downloads to help users along the path outlined in the book. We also did some video production and I participated in the PR strategy and social media for the book roll out and promotion.
This project was a total redesign of a law firm’s web site. Harbuck Keith & Holmes was formed in early 2016 and at that time had a static HTML website built. Several months later they had already outgrown their website and wanted to revisit their branding. I was brought in to do a redesign starting from defining needs and wants for their digital presence to the complete and launched website. The content included attorney profiles, practice areas, blog, and events.
The site is fully responsive and built on a WordPress platform. The staff at the firm will be able make edits and additions to the content as they wish.
I have also helped the firm move from a previous provider to MailChimp for their email marketing requirements. This included developing branded templates and special email content.
They had no website but had a domain name and wanted to create a site to showcase new products and deals to current and potential customers. The branding was supplied by Signature Media and the site developed on a WordPress platform. The project required a bit of photography, web design, and domain/email management. I also helped them with social channels and the top 20 directory listings in Google search results.
Hungate Cases needed a website to demonstrate their new E Series guitar case. The site was built on a responsive platform and launched with the early goals of lead generation and product demonstration.
A 360° product spinner, created from CAD drawings, was a major feature on the homepage. Pictures do speak volumes and the user interactivity supplied by the spinner is a plus. Of course, it helps to have a beautifully designed product to work with.
A fantastic video was produced by Voltaic Video to showcase the use of the E Series case. The modular design approach taken in site development facilitated adding the video served from a third party.
A product feedback survey was created with easy QR code access to facilitate marketing at SXSW 2015 Music Festival. Hungate Cases showed the prototype case at the gear show and around various venues for feedback. I also helped them create promotional items for the show.
As the product gets closer to launch and the company grows, this site can meet those needs and help Hungate Cases market their new and innovative product.
Reliable Ad Group asked me to help them with a client’s website development. Sheepdog Firearms is an indoor range and training facility coming to the Trussville, Alabama area. The range is still in development, but they needed an informational site that would also enable lead generation and e-commerce for the sale of charter memberships. The site was developed with the growth of the facility and needs of future members in mind.
Lookout-Mountain-Property.com was created to help advertise the availability of a 120 acre estate property in northeast Alabama in Fort Payne. The effort included domain name research, keyword optimization, image optimization, site construction, and launch. The site includes a contact form, map, image gallery, slider, and text description.

As a growing physical therapy and rehabilitation practice, HealthWorx needed a web presence to help patients find their offices, deliver patient documents, and communicate their message to an online audience. After meeting with them, the skeleton of a site came together rather quickly. Working from their existing logo, the site design was created and filled out with content they created and photography taken onsite. My role was web designer/developer, photographer, SE optimizer, and content coach.
The Linly Heflin Unit was founded in 1919 as a women’s service organization. Since 1923 the major focus of the group has been to further the education of young women in Alabama. To date, over 3,000 four-year scholarships have been awarded to Alabama girls attending Alabama colleges and universities.
The organization needed an updated website with the ability to easily edit the content, accept donations, and have a members only area for some content. WordPress provided a platform that would transform their web presence into a modern and user friendly web site. Features of this improvement included a pictorial membership directory, donations via Paypal, contact form, a homepage slider, and more pictures throughout the site. The site used a branded color palette and was SEO optimized.
